Shipping Policy

A Komartt parcel starts inside a supply partner's warehouse in China. It ends at a front door in the 48 mainland states or in Washington, DC, 10 to 15 business days later, and this page walks that route stop by stop. Each stop has its own number.

On a partner's shelf in China

Every item on the site is bought new from supply partners in China, and the partner packs it there. Blythewood holds no stock. None. The office there answers the inbox and the phone, keeps the paperwork, and takes in returns; a parcel never starts its trip in South Carolina.

  • The partner packs. We answer for the parcel from the first scan to your door.
  • A return never travels back to China. It comes to the office, after the authorization described in the Refund and Returns Policy.
  • Import duty sits in our cost line, cleared on the China side. See the customs stop further down.

At the checkout line

Shipping is 1 line in the order summary. It depends on the subtotal of the items before any discount code and before tax; 1 lamp or 3 lamps, the line reads the same.

  • $6.49 per order when the items come to less than $79.
  • $0 from $79. Plenty of single items cross that line alone, and 2 items together cross it about 19 times in 20.
  • Delivery area: street addresses in the 48 mainland states and Washington, DC.
  • Not served: Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the other territories, PO Boxes, military APO, FPO and DPO addresses, and every address outside the United States. Such an order is refunded in full before anything is packed.
  • Sales tax applies in the states that require it, on the item price only. The shipping line is never taxed.
  • No handling charge, no packaging charge, no surcharge for a bulky seat cover or a 2-pack.

The figure above the pay button is items, shipping and tax. 3 lines. It does not grow after the click.

At the 2:00 PM Eastern cut-off

An order placed before 2:00 PM Eastern on a business day counts as placed that day. Placed after 2:00 PM, on either weekend day, or on a federal holiday, it counts as placed on the next business day.

  • Handling: 2 to 3 business days for the partner to pack the parcel and pass it to the carrier.
  • Business days are Monday to Friday. Federal holidays do not count.
  • Sold out after payment: a note from us within 2 business days, with 3 ways out. Wait out the restock. Pick another item. Or take the full refund.
  • A typo in the address: email the correction within 12 hours of ordering, while the box is still open. Once the label is printed, the carrier delivers to the address on it.

In the air, then on a USPS truck

The long leg is a tracked international line. The last leg inside the United States is USPS. Add the 2 clocks. That is the window.

  • Transit: 8 to 12 business days from the carrier's first scan.
  • Delivery window: 10 to 15 business days from the order. That is 2 to 3 of handling plus 8 to 12 of transit, no rounding.
  • 1 tracking number covers both legs, emailed at the first scan; the USPS site picks the same number up for the last miles.

At US customs, with the duty already settled

Import duty and customs fees are ours. They are cleared before the parcel leaves China. You pay $0 on delivery.

  • The USPS carrier has no bill for you.
  • A text message or a call asking for a customs payment on a Komartt parcel did not come from the carrier. Refuse it, keep a screenshot, and send the screenshot to the support email the same day.

While the parcel is still moving

The map on the tracking page shows the first scan within about 1 business day of handling, then a quiet stretch of a few days between the export scan and the first United States scan. That stretch is the ocean crossing. Once USPS has the parcel, the scans come daily.

At your door

4 things can go wrong at the end of the route. Each has a deadline and a fix, and the first reply reaches you within 1 business day.

A box with damage inside

Within 7 days of delivery, send 2 photographs, the item and the box, to the support email. The Refund and Returns Policy then runs on our postage: a replacement, or the money back, you pick. The damaged item stays with you unless we ask for it.

Marked delivered, nothing on the step

Carriers scan a parcel as delivered up to a day early. Give it 48 hours. Ask the rest of the house, then next door. Then send us a note, a USPS trace follows within 1 business day, and a parcel the trace cannot find is replaced or refunded at your choice.

No new scan for 7 business days

Send us a note. A trace goes out within 1 business day, USPS takes up to 7 business days to answer it, and a parcel it cannot locate is replaced or refunded, your choice. A delivery problem of any kind is closed within 7 business days of your message.

Later than business day 15

A parcel with no delivery scan past business day 15 is late by our own definition. Under the federal Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule you may keep waiting, or cancel for the full amount back. We offer that choice as soon as we know a parcel will miss its window, before you ask.

When the calendar gets in the way

3 things stretch the window: 2 holidays in China, and the weather. None is in our hands. None changes your rights above.

  • Lunar New Year, late in the winter: partner warehouses close, and parcels ordered around the break leave several days later than usual.
  • National Day Golden Week, early October: the same kind of pause.
  • Storms and carrier peaks, mostly November and December inside the United States: USPS days stretch.

A weekend day or a federal holiday is not a business day, so it never counts toward handling or transit. Whenever a pause means a parcel will land after business day 15, you hear from us first, with the choice to wait or to take the refund.

Back the other way

30 days from the delivery scan to change your mind. The authorization comes by email, or from the message page; the parcel goes to the Blythewood office; the restocking fee is $0. Postage on the way back is yours when you simply changed your mind, and ours when the item is faulty, wrong or damaged in transit. Every deadline is in the Refund and Returns Policy. No exceptions hide elsewhere.
